Windows NT: Setting up the Dial-Up Connection
Double click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop, and open the
"Dial-Up Networking" folder. Click on "New..." to open the New
Phonebook Entry Wizard. Click on the "I know all about phonebook
entries..." checkbox to check it, then click on the "Finish" button to
continue.

In the Edit Phonebook Entry window, click on the "Basic" tab. Set
up the Basic settings as follows...

Make sure that the proper type of modem is selected. If you don't
know what type of modem is installed on your computer, consult the
documentation or user manual which accompanied your computer. If the
type of modem which is installed on your computer is not listed, try
one of the generic modem types or contact the computer or modem
manufacturer.
Click on the "Alternates..." button to open the Phone Numbers
window. Set up the Phone Numbers settings as follows...

To add an entry to the "Phone Numbers", enter the phone number in
the "New phone number" field and click on the "Add" button.
Click on the "OK" button to close the Phone Numbers window.
In the Edit Phonebook Entry window, click on the "Server" tab.
Set up the Server settings as follows...

The only Network Protocol that should be checked is "TCP/IP".
If any other protocols are checked, click on them to uncheck them.
Click on the "TCP/IP Settings..." button to open the PPP TCP/IP
Settings window. Set up the PPP TCP/IP settings as follows...

Click on the "OK" button to close the PPP TCP/IP Settings
window.
In the Edit Phonebook Entry window, click on the "Script" tab. Make
sure that "After dialing (login)" is set to "None". If it is not,
click on "None" to select it.

Click on the "Security" tab. Make sure that "Authentication and
encryption policy" is set to "Accept any authentication including clear
text". If it is not, click on "Accept any authentication including
clear text" to select it.

Click on the "OK" button to finish creating the new Phonebook
entry.
