Welcome to the Convict Collection, a project of convict tales that have inspired a unique and original collection of fine jewellery, beautiful ornaments and objets d'art and a never-ending undertaking - just as I discover the incredible story of one convict, another pops up...these people are my 'stars', surviving a draconian system, landed against their wishes on the shores of a foreign land that must have been like landing on Mars!!

There were over 230 'crimes' in Dickensian England of the time that passed the death penalty. Seven years transportation was the minimum sentence, fourteen years the middle and life the longest. However the greatest majority stayed in Australia...for life, anyway.

So many forged successful lives, some becoming extremely wealthy, some wealthy in family and lifestyle.

I have looked at their lives and with the help of two fabulous designers fashioned jewellery pieces that reflect their lives. I have also written a booklet of stories about them from the material I have been able to gather.

As the direct descendant of three convicts, this has been a voyage of discovery, drama and sometimes just downright funny...the booklets are available for sale at low, low prices and every day, items of fabulous jewellery are being added to each individual story.

This is a long process, so be patient. Click onto stories below that take your fancy and take the adventure of the lives of these people who arrived in Australia under unfortunate circumstances and turned their lives into wonderful successes.

Convict Booklets:

Booklets are individual stories on the life of each convict. They provide an interesting insight in to the lives of Australian convicts with details as to why each convict justifies jewellery pieces in their honour. You thus get a story to tell while wearing them.
