There is no heating in the rooms, other than the open fire in the dining hall, and it is mid winter at the base of the Blue Mountains. Bring warm clothes, pillows, and extra bedding or very warm sleeping bags. Only some blankets are provided, and a very small number of pillows are available for people who can not bring their own due to their mode of transport (eg from overseas or interstate by air).
Toilets, hot showers and laundry are separate to the cabins.
Y.M.C.A. Camp Yarramundi is on the western side of the Nepean/Hawkesbury River, on the southern bank of the Grose river. Take Bosworth St. South out of Richmond (it becomes Castlereagh Rd) for 4km and turn right into Springwood Rd; or take Castlereagh Rd North from Penrith approximately 20km and turn left into Springwood Rd. Lit up camp entrance archway with YMCA name is on right after 4km.
From Sydney take the Western Freeway to Penrith, or take Windsor Rd to Richmond.
From the west take Bells line of Rd to Richmond.
From Princes Highway cut across to Penrith any way you know how.
By public transport: fast trains to Penrith, or less frequently along the Richmond branch line. From there use taxis, or we can arrange Sydney cloggers to help with transport.
Springwood Rd crosses the Nepean river. In the extremely rare situation that the bridge is flooded, it is possible to come from the other direction along Springwood Rd, by taking the western freeway (or train) past Penrith all the way to Springwood first.
Alternatively arrive Thursday and come to our West Pymble clogging club. Sydney dancers can billet, and help with transport on Friday
For relatives to contact the camp in emergencies, telephone 02 4776 1037
One large hall to fit everyone, plus a second hall for double the workshops. To clog you should have clogging experience. If you have only just started clogging, call to discuss if you have enough experience to get value from the camp. 02 9979 5736
