Experienced Square Dancers
Our weekly social dance runs from 8pm to 10pm
then supper and social time.
Many are very keen so we often start earlier.
If there are beginners the night starts at the level they have
reached. Then different brackets through the night are at different
levels. Once the beginners are experienced the whole night runs with
a combination of Mainstream and Plus brackets.
The amount of challenging choreography is fine-tuned depending on
the mix of visitors and club dancers getting up in each bracket,
often "Dance By Definition" (DBD)
If a bracket is going to be complex
challenging choreography for the very experienced dancers it will be
announced as such. Often the first bracket before the main dance
start time is one of these so if you are a fanatic you may want to
arrive early.
Our club is called the Hillbillies Square Dancers and has been
running for nearly 40 years in the area.
Vickie Dean is the main caller. There are sometimes visiting callers
who have come to enjoy the DBD dancing. They may have a guest call.
If Vickie cant make it Steve Dean or other callers come along and
call the night.
There are some nights when the hall is not available and we do not
meet, especially in the Xmas holiday period, so call or email us
first if you plan to visit.
